β οΈ Common Mistakes
- β
Not Hulling the Strawberries: Leaving the green leafy tops on the strawberries before blending will introduce a bitter, grassy taste and speckle your lemonade with unappealing green flecks.
π Variations
Sparkling Strawberry Basil: Add 2 fresh basil leaves into the blender along with the berries, and replace the still water with carbonated club soda.
Spiked Blender Lemonade: Pour in 1.5 oz (45 ml) of silver tequila or vodka for an effortless summer cocktail.
π§ Storage
- π¦
This fresh blend can be kept in a sealed jar in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. Give it a good shake before serving as the natural pulp will slowly settle.
π‘ Chef Tips
The Blender Shortcut: Blending the whole strawberries directly into the lemon juice saves you the step of making a separate cooked syrup, resulting in a much brighter, fresher fruit flavor profile.
Adjusting Sweetness: If your lemons are exceptionally large or sour, step up the simple syrup by an extra half-ounce to maintain a perfect balance.
