School-Safe Strawberry Oat Bars
By the QuiteRecipes team (Jamy & Kaïna) | Food Service Professional, Early Childhood Expert & Parents
Soft-baked strawberry oat bars with a jammy fruit center — nut-free, dairy-free, and fit for the safest lunchbox or snack drawer.
Jammy, buttery-tasting, and astonishingly simple — these strawberry oat bars bring a soft oat crumble to a sweet fruit center with no dairy and no nuts. A press-in oat base, a thick spoon of strawberry filling, and a streusel top bake into portable squares that hold up in a lunchbox. They're made from pantry basics and taste like bakery treats. We love that a "safe" snack can look this golden and taste this indulgent, batch after batch.

⚠️ Common Mistakes
- ✕
Falling-apart bars from slicing hot.
- ✕
Soggy base from a too-runny filling; the cornstarch prevents that.
- ✕
Bland oat layer — brown sugar and vanilla matter.
- ✕
Burnt fruit at the edges; keep a mild oven and watch the timer.
🔄 Variations
Raspberry or blueberry swap the strawberry cleanly.
Apple-cinnamon with diced apple and extra cinnamon.
Chocolate-chunk for a special treat (dairy-free chips).
Seeded top: sprinkle sunflower seeds before baking.
🧊 Storage
- 📦
Keeps 4 days in a sealed container; freeze 2 months, thaw on the counter.
💡 Chef Tips
Chilled dairy-free butter makes the best crumble.
Cool completely before slicing or bars will crumble apart.
Use thick strawberry jam for a shortcut filling.
Lightly press the topping so it stays put while baking.
