β οΈ Common Mistakes
- β
Skipping the Strainer: Skipping the fine-mesh strainer leaves crushed raspberry seeds floating in your drink, which can ruin the smooth mouthfeel of this elegant mocktail.
π Variations
Rose Lychee Twist: Add a single drop of culinary rose water to the mix to enhance the natural floral notes of the lychee.
Lychee Martini Cocktail: Add 1.5 oz (45 ml) of premium vodka to easily convert this recipe into a sophisticated evening martini.
π§ Storage
- π¦
This drink is best assembled and served fresh. The canned lychees and leftover syrup can be transferred to an airtight container and kept in the fridge for up to 5 days.
π‘ Chef Tips
Finding Lychee Juice: The easiest way to get high-quality lychee juice is to buy a can of whole lychees in heavy syrup from the Asian foods aisle. Use the clear liquid from the can for the mocktail, and save the fruit for garnishing!
Balance the Sweetness: Canned lychee syrup can be intensely sweet. Balance it perfectly by adjusting the fresh lime juice or opting for plain sparkling water over ginger ale.
