⚠️ Common Mistakes
- ✕
Over-blending: Blending too long will incorporate too much air and melt the ice cream, turning your thick shake into a thin, frothy drink.
- ✕
Skimping on Cookies: Using fewer than 6 cookies will result in a bland, mostly-vanilla shake rather than the bold Oreo flavor you're after.
🔄 Variations
Mint Oreo Milkshake: Substitute regular Oreos with Mint Oreos and add ¼ tsp peppermint extract for a cool, refreshing twist.
Cookies & Cream Protein Shake: Add 1 scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder and use 1 cup of milk for a post-workout treat.
Oreo Frappuccino: Add ½ cup of strong brewed coffee (chilled) and blend with 1 extra tablespoon of chocolate syrup for a coffee-shop-style frappé.
🧊 Storage
- 📦
Milkshakes are best enjoyed immediately after preparation. Leftovers can be stored in the freezer for up to 1 day, but will need a quick re-blend to restore the creamy texture before serving.
💡 Chef Tips
Extra Thick: Use only ¼ cup of milk for an extra-thick, spoonable milkshake. Add more milk to thin it out if needed.
Chill the Glass: Place your serving glass in the freezer for 10 minutes before pouring — it keeps the milkshake cold and creamy longer.
