β οΈ Common Mistakes
- β
Seeds Frustration: Blackberries and raspberries contain hard micro-seeds. If you have a lower-powered blender that leaves these seeds intact, pass the smoothie through a coarse sieve before serving for a velvety feel.
π Variations
Berry Green Machine: Toss a handful of fresh baby spinach into the blender. The color will shift to dark green, but the sweet berries will completely mask the spinach flavor!
Tropical Berry Blend: Substitute 2 oz of the milk with pure coconut milk and add a few frozen mango pieces for a tropical twist.
π§ Storage
- π¦
Consume immediately to enjoy the cold, thick texture. Leftovers can be kept in a sealed mason jar in the fridge for up to 12 hours, though it will turn into a liquid juice format. Shake well before drinking.
π‘ Chef Tips
Frozen is Better: Using frozen mixed berries instead of fresh berries gives your smoothie that thick, frosty, cafΓ©-style texture without needing to add ice cubes that dilute the flavor.
Adjust the Thickness: If your blender gets stuck or the smoothie is too thick to drink through a straw, add an extra splash of milk (1 oz) to help emulsify the mixture.
