⚠️ Common Mistakes
- ✕
Excess Moisture: If your lentils are too wet, drain them thoroughly or pat them dry before mixing. Excess water prevents the patties from crisping up.
- ✕
Handling: Handle the patties gently when flipping them in the pan to prevent them from breaking apart.
🔄 Variations
Spice Kick: Add a teaspoon of cumin, smoked paprika, or curry powder to the mix for a boost of flavor.
Herb Freshness: Stir in chopped fresh cilantro or parsley for a bright, herbal note.
🧊 Storage
- 📦
These patties can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a pan or oven to regain crispness.
💡 Chef Tips
Binding: If the mixture feels too loose, add a tablespoon of flour or breadcrumbs to help the patties hold their shape better during cooking.
Pre-cooking: Ensure the potatoes are cooked until soft enough to mash easily, but not overly watery, as this can make the patties difficult to handle.
