⚠️ Common Mistakes

  • ✕

Under-rising: If the dough has not doubled in volume, the final result will be dense rather than airy. Ensure a warm, draft-free environment for the proofing stage.

  • ✕

Overworking the Dough: After the first rise, handle the dough gently to keep the air pockets intact.

🔄 Variations

✦

Herb Twist: Replace parsley with cilantro or chives for a different aromatic profile.

✦

Extra Spice: Add a pinch of red chili flakes to the cod filling for a subtle, spicy finish.

🧊 Storage

  • 📦

This bread is best served warm on the day it is baked. If stored, keep in an airtight container for up to 2 days; refresh in a warm oven.

💡 Chef Tips

✦

Cod Preparation: Ensure the cod is thoroughly desalted and dried before sautéing to prevent excess moisture from making the bread dough soggy.

✦

Garlic Intensity: For a deeper flavor, roast the garlic cloves whole before mincing them into the cod filling.
