**Boil Fruit:** In a saucepan, bring the water and berries to a simmer over medium heat. Let them cook until the berries start to break down and release their juices.

β οΈ Common Mistakes
- β
Rushing the Cooling: It is tempting to eat the jam immediately, but the chia seeds need time to fully hydrate and gel the mixture. Give it at least 2 hours in the fridge to set properly.
- β
Water Ratio: If you find the jam too thin after it has cooled, you can stir in an extra tablespoon of chia seeds and let it sit for another hour.
π Variations
Herb Infusion: Add a teaspoon of fresh basil or mint when simmering the berries for a gourmet twist.
Citrus Zing: Add the zest of one lemon or orange to the boiling mixture for a bright, aromatic flavor.
π§ Storage
- π¦
This jam lasts for up to 2 weeks in an airtight container in the refrigerator. It can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
π‘ Chef Tips
Consistency: If you prefer a smoother jam, you can use an immersion blender to pulse the fruit mixture before adding the chia seeds.
Natural Sweetness: If you prefer a less refined sugar option, you can substitute the brown sugar with maple syrup or agave nectar.
